TCS leads the pack, followed by Infosys and Wipro
| Echoing the upbeat mood of the IT-BPO industry atthe NASSCOM HR Summit, 2011, NASSCOM today announced the annual rankings of top 20 IT-BPO employers in India, for Financial Year 2010-11. Tata Consultancy Services has emerged as the largest recruiter over the last year, followed by Infosys and Wipro Technologies.
The rankings reveal a surge in hiring, with almost one third of the
industry aiming to grow by 25 percent, and a little over two-third of
the industry planning to increase their employee base by 10 percent in
the coming year. There is also a renewed focus on increasing the number
of women in the workforce, with women as a percentage of total new hires
reaching more than 40 percent over the last 3 years. |

The
cost of hiring for almost half of the industry has declined over the
last three years, as a result of increased referrals, campus placements
and internal job postings. Hiring from tier-3 cities has also increased
over the last year, and companies that are sourcing talent from tier-3
locations have reported a higher manpower fulfillment ratio.
The
industry is also investing in a number of initiatives to build a
trainable talent pool, making available talent industry ready and
imparting specialized training to create more domain experts.
As
per the latest survey findings, almost 90 percent of IT-BPO companies
sponsor certification programs for employees while 83 percent conduct
programs internally. Almost 70 percent companies said that they sponsor
higher education for their employees. |

on the India-based FTE headcount of firms with IT-BPO operations in
India, as reported to NASSCOM in its annual survey. |

on publicly available information, few other MNC's such as IBM,
Accenture, Convergys, HP India would have also featured in this list.
However, as they have not participated in the survey, NASSCOM do not have all
the required details and are unable to rank them. |

Fast facts from the findings of the survey:
- Women constitute 37% of the total workforce
- 1/3rd of the current employee base is less than 25 years old; 55% is 26 – 35 years; 10% is 36 – 45 years; 2% is 45+
- Differently abled employees constitute only 0.2% of the workforce
- 90%
of companies surveyed reported an increase in employee referrals
whereas 75% reported an increase in campus hiring and internal job
postings.
- Offer acceptance ratio is estimated at 80%
